Needle mats
Whether as roll goods for large-scale applications or as custom die-cut parts, needle felts are the base products for a variety of different applications in passive fire protection, filtration, and thermal insulation. Temperature resistance between 550°C and 1,600°C is possible, depending on the fiber type and/or finish.
Materials
- THERMO E-glass fibers: Thickness: 3-50 mm, Area weight: approx. 300-8000 g/m²
- ECR-glass fibers (HAKOTHERM®-800): Thickness: 3-50 mm, Area weight: approx. 300-8000 g/m²
- Silicate fibers (HAKOTHERM®-1200): Thickness: approx. 3-30 mm, Area weight: approx. 400-5,100 g/m²
Applications (among others)
- Industrial insulation
- Passive fire protection (automotive industry, marine, various industrial sectors)
- Mechanical engineering
- Gas, particle, oil mist filtration
Stitch-bonded mats
Would you like a bit more tensile strength? HKO stitch-bonded mats offer up to three times higher tensile strength compared to needle felts in the thermal performance range of 550°C to 1,100°C. Their higher density can provide more stability in movable applications if needed. Additionally, our stitch-bonded mats are a more stable solution for refined products, such as those requiring lamination.
